Brooklyn Earick Dismisses Tottenham Hotspur Acquisition Offer Post-Initial Contact
Daniel Levy oversaw Spurs' transition to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in recent years.
US technology mogul the entrepreneur has ruled out making a formal takeover bid for the North London club.
Tottenham had earlier “clearly turned down” an informal expression of interest from a investment group spearheaded by the American last month and stated the organization was unavailable for purchase.
Yet British acquisition regulations dictated that, having had an expression of interest rejected, Earick's consortium were obligated to present a formal offer by late October or state they would not do so.
Verification of the choice was provided in a statement released by the club to the financial markets, confirming the organization is “no longer in an takeover phase.”
He published an snapshot of the announcement on social media, adding: “It was a pleasure discussing with Spurs and the owners' agents over the past few weeks.
“I have deep admiration for the team, its executives, and its supporters, and wish them only the best.”
Tottenham's directors acknowledged the group for its “positive engagement” in negotiations and for “acknowledging the clear position” of the owners that the club is unavailable.
The entrepreneur is a one-time music presenter who also was employed in aerospace studies for NASA before founding his technology firm, which specializes in tech, entertainment, sports and leisure.
Earick's proposal was the third inquiry rejected by the team's directors since the abrupt resignation of executive chairman Levy in last month.
In early fall, the organization declined offers from previous club stakeholder Amanda Staveley's the investment firm and a consortium headed by Roger Kennedy and the co-investor through the holding company.
The former chairman and his relatives control about thirty percent of Enic Holdings – which has an nearly 87 percent stake in the club.
He was the Premier League's top-tenured leader and is believed to have received more than £50m during his almost quarter of a century in the position.
However he was also the target of frequent demonstrations by Spurs fans, especially last term as domestic league results were disappointing.
Tottenham won their initial silverware in seventeen years when they defeated the Red Devils in May's European final.
