Skydance Paramount Will Remove Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Report
Skydance Paramount will initiate mass layoffs during the week starting 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 American roles under a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction are a result of the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed during August worth $8.4bn.
More international job cuts are expected, as the firm aiming to announce full details via its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.
Previous updates had indicated the company planned to cut from 2,000 to 3,000 positions by early November.
Until December 2024, Paramount employed almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 temporary project employees.
Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
